Compton rapper Buddy, has shared the visuals to his brand new single “You 2 Thank.” The eclectic record exudes positive energy and a let loose at a party vibe as seen in the music video.
The single artwork and visuals are in collaboration with LA based clothing brand, BornxRaised, at their annual Sadie Hawkins winter formal where Buddy is surrounded by loved ones for a night of disco. The video shows a montage and cameos from local LA and California rap legends like YG, G Perico, Jay 305, 2eleven, Jay Worthy, OhGeesy, YG, Wallie the sensei, Kalan.FrFr, Guapdad and additionally Wiz Khalifa, Freddie gibbs, Kyle, Jaleel, Reese LaFlare, and more.
“You 2 Thank” track begins with someone calling folks out to the dancefloor followed by Buddy singing about all of the things he is grateful for in life: “Couldn’t wait for this / Save the date for this / I was made for this / I’m so thankful (for this)”.
The record shows a side of gratitude and appreciation for those who have supported Buddy and paved the way for him. Buddy was inspired to shoot his visuals and capture his artwork as a way to shed light and pay respects to his late friend, Spanto from Born and Raise.
